1. What this app is — and is not

The Carb & Insulin Log is a record-keeping tool only. It lets you write down information you already have — what your child ate, blood-glucose readings, and insulin doses you administered as instructed by your care team.

It does NOT calculate, recommend, suggest, estimate, or verify an insulin dose. There is no bolus calculator, no correction-dose feature, and no carb-ratio math. The only arithmetic it performs is adding up numbers you typed in yourself (such as a daily carb total). It is not a medical device and provides no medical advice.

2. Not medical advice

Nothing in this app is medical advice. Carb counts — including any returned by the food lookup — are estimates that vary by brand, ripeness, and serving size. Always read current labels. Always determine insulin doses with, and follow the instructions of, your child's endocrinologist, CDCES, or care team. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

3. Your account & acceptable use

You must be the parent, legal guardian, or an authorized caregiver of the child whose information you record.
Your account is for your immediate family / household caregivers (the people who actually care for the child day to day — e.g. parents, partner, grandparents, an established nanny). Do not give your sign-in link to anyone outside that circle.
Do not use the app to store information about someone whose care you are not directly responsible for.
Do not attempt to access another account, bypass security or row-level isolation, scrape the service, abuse the food-lookup endpoint, or use the app for anything illegal.
You are responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure. If a caregiver leaves your circle, change the email on the account or contact us to help.

4. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter.
You are responsible for all dosing decisions, made per your care team's instructions — not based on anything in this app.
Keep your own backups (use the Export feature) in addition to the cloud copy.

5. Privacy

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy. By using the app you agree to that policy.

6. No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee it will be accurate, available, or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brave Little Bites and its operators are not liable for any harm, loss, or damages arising from use of this app, including any dosing, dietary, or treatment decision. This app is not a substitute for professional medical care.

8. Termination

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from the in-app Menu. We may suspend or terminate an account that misuses the service, abuses other users, attempts to evade row-level security, or violates these Terms — typically with notice when feasible, but immediately when needed to protect users or the service. On termination, your data is deleted per the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the current version.
